Valentine’s day just happened which means everyone is doing what they can to show who they love. For the people who are single and also want to do something fun and reading books is a passion of yours, “go on a date” with some of my favorite romance novels.

Here are a couple series one could read this month that will peak your interests …

If you like sports…Read the Off-Campus/Briar U series by: Elle Kennedy

The Off-campus series is about a group of friends: Garret, Logan, Dean and Tuck who live in the same off campus house at the fictional Briar University. Then, the Briar U series goes into some secondary characters from the first series. Most of the male heroes in the book are players but they clean up their act quick when they meet their heroines in their story. Kennedy makes it a big deal to diversify her heroines with different experiences and makes it so much fun to read. Elle Kennedy’s stories always leave me wondering how she is going to take the direction of her story leaving me to question what is next.

If you like art… Read the Bright Falls series by: Ashley Herring Blake

The series tells the love stories of a group of friends: Claire Sutherland, Astrid Green and Iris Kelly who still live in their small town of Bright Falls. The book series does feature LGBTQ+IA representation so they fall in love with other women in their books. This series is so interesting because each woman in the books and their partners do jobs that are artistic. Clarie runs a bookstore, Astrid Green is an interior designer, and Iris Kelly is a romance novelist. They are so quirky and could easily root for these characters as they slowly fall in love.

If you like mathematics or science… Read Ali Hazelwood’s books

This is not a series but all of Hazelwood’s books carry a common theme of keeping their heroes and heroines in the STEM profession. In Love on the Brain and The Love Hypothesis, both characters were working in professions like biology or neuroscience. She also released a bunch of novellas and is going to release a new novel featuring other science fields. Hazelwood has introduced a new type of romance novel where she makes science and academics a prime part of the story. This is something that sets her apart from other authors who are writing romance nowadays.

If you do not have any specific interests… Read the Twisted series by: Ana Huang

The series also tells the story of another college friend group: Ava Chen, Bridget Von Ascheberg, Jules Ambrose, and Stella Alonso. The series is so great because each of the girls are all different professions from politics to fashion. All their romantic interests also vary as well that completes the heroines’ personalities. Readers have the serious moody Alex Volkov and Christian Harper, to the silly Josh Chen, then the mean Ryhs Larsen. Even though the novels have a serious tone, the books are big on relationship building. The novels go into the characters’ own deeper issues but use them to form this deep connection that makes it so engaging to read.
