They say college is where you go to find your bridesmaids and if you’re lucky that’s true. Your best friend from college turns into your significant other. She’s there for you when you need a shoulder to cry on, holds your hair back when you’ve had one too many and is always there when you need someone to share a pizza and a good laugh with. The only down side to becoming this close to someone is when you’re one year apart. To the both of you one year seems like nothing, but that “academic” year makes all the difference. As graduation quickly approaches, the thought of leaving the other behind and watching the other leave is the saddest part of your story yet. Although you know nothing can really separate you two it’s still sad to know you’ll be states away. Here is what’s happening as we “start to feel all the feels.”

The Graduating Friend:

1. Ugh I can’t nonstop text her anymore. I don’t think my boss would like that.2. How am I supposed to know if Angela made her Starbs order right today?3. Who is going to sit with me when I’m hungry?4. Who will I complain to when I’m drowning in work?5. My car is all packed up my room is empty yet I feel like I’m forgetting something.6. What am I going to do on my lunch breaks?7. Inside jokes will no longer include me? *sad face*8. Who is going to fight the vending machine for me when my snack gets stuck?9. Where else am I going to get a mini pep talk from mid- mental breakdown?10. She better not move to Colorado next year.

The Soon to be Senior Friend:

1. Ugh who is going to bring me a tee when I make a mess of my own?2. Who will share a couch with me to cuddle?3. What am I going to do on breaks?4. Who will I communicate with solely by looks?5. Who’s going to tell me to keep going when I’m about to give up?6. Hour long professor visits together…7. I feel like a part of me is leaving.8. Can you take your lunch break when I’m having a crisis?9. Can I also join you on “bring your child to work day”?10. Maybe we can work together in a year?

As sad as we are, we know nothing will ever change; this friendship has turned into a sisterhood. As one of us walks across that stage at graduation and the other cheers, our bond can only grow even stronger. However, our phone bills may suffer just a little. Not being attached the hip will definitely make a dent in those.
