These last couple of years have been really challenging for my mental health.

Along with the burnout coming from all the schoolwork and extracurricular activities, there were trying situations that took up a lot of my time as well. I was so overwhelmed with these scenarios that I just wanted to take a break. For this reason, I wanted to take some time to show my gratitude towards my friends and my family, they are a great support system.

Despite being a pretty closed-off person (to the point where even a select few of my friends are kept up to date with the littlest details of how my life is going), I appreciate that the people I surround myself with always give me the needed encouragement and comfort. Being around friends and family draws my attention away from the chaos, as well as the inconveniences. It’s hard to find people that you can count on, so if you have that support system, make sure to keep them close.
