Tell your friends you are thankful for them: Friendsgiving

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Scranton chapter.

Thanksgiving break is right around the corner, and I know I’m excited to go home and see my friends who are also away at college. I am so thankful for my friends who have gotten me through hard times in my life and have made my life more enjoyable. To show our thanks and appreciation towards one another we have a yearly tradition which is Friendsgiving!

Friendsgiving for us is a “family” dinner and we do it potluck style where everyone brings their own dish. My friends and I dress up, take pictures, put up decorations, and make everything look cute. It is a fun way to welcome everyone back home and usually everyone can make it.

Here are some fun (or basic) dishes to bring:

· The number one fan, a charcuterie board. This is so versatile and can be made any way with so many ingredients!

· Mac and cheese… Because who doesn’t love some cheesy pasta?

· Mashed potatoes

· Bread rolls

· Fruit or veggie tray

· Any type of dip: pumpkin dip, buffalo dip, taco dip, fruit dip, spinach dip

Can’t forget the dessert and drinks:

· The classic pies. Pumpkin pie. Apple pie. Pecan pie.

· Switch it up with some peanut butter pie, brownies, or pumpkin cheesecake!

· The ultimate fall/thanksgiving vibes mimosa:

Apple cider mimosas

o Use your favorite bubbly drink and mix it with some pure apple cider

o Decorate your champagne glass rims with cinnamon sugar

o Garnish with an apple slice

Have the best Friendsgiving ever!
