The Struggles of Commuting

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Scranton chapter.

Deciding to commute to college was a huge commitment to make; now we are forced to deal with the struggles that are exceptionally high right now. Now, do not get me wrong commuting has many benefits but here are just a few downfalls:

Having to leave 30 minutes before class

Grabbing everything you need, may need, probably will need throughout the day

Living out of your car

Answering the repetitive question of how far you are from school

Truly being a ” townie”

Going out requires you to sleepover your BFF who dorms aka bring everything you may need, or arranging a ride (hey ma)

Parking is basically the hunger games

The meter tickets…

Being late because of traffic

Having to say in front of your class when you walk in late “sorry I commute”

Not being able to be all that productive at home

Rehearsing your schedule with your family so they know why you’re not home
