This past week the final touches have been put on the new apartment complex located on Mulberry Street between Monroe and Quincy Ave, directly across from the DeNaples Student Center. Built in honor of the former president of the University, Fr. Scott Pilarz, this complex includes over 200 apartments, a state of the art gym and fitness center, and dining area. The project began in the fall of 2010 and, after a year of construction, is now finally complete. The building includes six floors of three and four person apartments furnished with state of the art technology and appliances. On the first floor of the west building, the new fitness center has over 200 machines and an entire heavy weight section. Because it opens at 7:00 AM does not close until 12:00 AM students have the opportunity to work out any time of day at their convenience. Located in the east building complex is Scranton’s new dining facility. This cafeteria has hot and cold food made to order, a soft drink machine and seating located both inside and outside for over 100 people.
