If you haven’t gone to the theaters to see the new, incredible movie A Star is Born, then you are missing out. The movie was released on October 5, 2018 and has an 89% on Rotten Tomatoes. Some of the reasons why I think this movie is such a hit are because any one that can watch R-rated movies can relate to it, it talks about many trending issues, and it features great actors and music.

Best in the Business

This film features Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga (Stefani Germanotta), who are some of the most looked-up-to stars in Hollywood. Bradley Cooper plays Jackson Maine, a musician, and Lady Gaga plays Ally, an upcoming artist who Jackson pushes the spotlight and fame upon. The two of them play a couple who go through many ups and downs together, but always find a way to love each other.

Popular Issues Today

Although this love story takes up the majority of the film, this movie brings light to many issues people are facing today. Some of these include alcoholism, drug abuse, and mental health issues. The main male character, Jackson, struggles with each of these problems which creates many issues during his relationship with Ally and everyone who surrounds him. During the movie Jackson is seen doing cocaine, popping pills, and drinking obsessively all the time. These scenes show the negative effects and damage that these habits can evolve into and cause. It also shows how these can cause or lead to mental health issues like depression and suicide.

Play on Repeat

The soundtrack for “A Star is Born” is amazing. It has songs that will fit whatever mood you’re feeling at any moment: falling in love, relationship struggles, losing someone you love, and songs that you want to shout out all day long. My personal favorites are “Shallow” and “Always Remember Us This Way.”

If you haven’t checked this movie out yet, you are missing out and need this in your life ASAP.
