Get Ready to Get Some Serious FOMO of the People Who Got Tickets to the Friends New York City Pop Up

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Scranton chapter.

Fans of the TV show Friends everywhere are FREAKING out over Friends celebrating their 25th Anniversary of the shows premiere. As a special way to celebrate, Friends is having a Pop-Up in SoHo, New York. I can remember setting my alarm to wake up early on August 2nd to get my tickets, which sold out within about ten minutes. According to their website, friends25popup.com, this Friends pop-up will have many details including the iconic orange sofa that will be part of the many “set re-creations” at the pop-up. Such as the iconic fountain, Joey and Chandler’s apartment, and There will also be their very own Central Perk Cafe which will be serving drinks! I don’t know about anyone else, but I cannot wait to try some of that coffee that the Friends gang was always raving about.

Another really awesome part of the Pop-up experience that I’m looking forward to is the photo opportunities. How cool is it going to be to be sitting in Central Perk with my cup of coffee (hold on while I try to channel my inner Rachel Green)? Another cool thing that will be part of the experience is the retail store! I can’t wait to walk out of there with my hands full merchandise because I legit can’t help myself when it comes to this show. I cannot wait to be able to go to this experience in NYC and be able to live like Monica Geller for a day.

As a special way to celebrate the Friends 25th Anniversary, I’m going to share some of my favorite episodes:

The One with the East German Laundry Detergent

– This Episode is my number one favorite. When Ross slams accidentally hits his head on the washer machine and falls after Rachel kisses him for the first time might be a time I have laughed harder than I ever have before.

The One with the Lottery

– This episode is one of the funniest. I love when the pigeon makes the bowl fall out of Phoebe’s hands and then she calls Monica’s apartment pretending to be the pigeon to apologize. Such a classic.

The One with All the Resolutions

– This episode is one of my favorites because watching Ross struggle with his leather pants is prime entertainment. When he arrives back at Monica’s apartment after having to walk back in only his underwear and then proclaims that he is a “loser” on only the second day of January is sometimes how we all feel. Ross Gellar = Relatable.

The One Where Everybody Finds Out

– Legit one of the best moments EVER in television history is when Phoebe looks out the window of Ross’s possible new apartment to see Chandler and Monica together is arguably the best moment of the entire series.

The One with The Routine

– Watching Ross and Monica dance to a routine at their favorite tv special, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, that they made up in middle school for a dance contest really is the icing on the cake. These characters are already so funny and watching them dance and seeing how amazing they think it is, is so hilarious. I think sometimes we can all be like Monica and Ross and “fangirl” over things we have been obsessed with since childhood.
