Fall Break: Expectations vs Reality

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Scranton chapter.

Fall Break: What everyone thought they “needed” – but quickly discovered otherwise once they made it home. The boredom sunk in and the realization of not being at school with your BFFs just added to the at home depression. Don’t worry, you’re not the only one that had an uneventful long weekend.

You couldn’t wait to go home to see your home friends. But in reality, either they are too cool to come home or flat out don’t have a fall break. LAME

So you decide to spend your free time shopping. And quickly regret all those times you wasted your money on random stuff at school. YOU ARE A BROKE GIRL.

Work.Work.Work.Two meanings: Either your professor is an a** and gave you a test returning day – or you are trying to make some moo-la. Either way, this sucks.

At least my parents will be happy to see me!Until they open that deficiency letter that was sent home…

The idea of doing fun fall things with the family.Like I said ‘the idea’. Your brothers are annoying and your mom can’t get a good candid of you at the pumpkin patch.

No more cafeteria food.Instead, order in Chinese – because mom doesn’t feel like cooking.

I’ll have time to relax.Though there is a such thing as too much time – especially when Netflix asks if you are still watching.

So what do we have to look forward to? A three-day week and a reunion with your BFFs – Cause let’s face it, we need to make up for lost time over the weekend.

Her life changed when she studied abroad in London and fell in love with traveling. She is obsessed with her adorable pug, Chikfila, and her eleven best friends who just so happen to be her housemates. She can't hold a tune or keep a rhythm but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it! Am I right?
Samantha is an East Coast girl from Pennsylvania with a New York City attitude and a Florida mindset.
