Who else is ready for Halloween? It’s around the corner and I know that I’ve been counting down the days. In the name of Halloweekend and all of that fun stuff coming up around the bend, here is a list I’ve compiled of the 10 best celebrity Halloween costumes throughout the 2000s!
1. Lupita Nyong’o as Dionne Davenport
Esteemed actress, Lupita Nyong’o, truly went all out when dressing up as Dionne Davenport for Halloween in 2018. Rocking with the same hair, outfit, and Dionne’s phone as seen in Clueless, she simply ran the night with her look.
2. Harry Styles as Elton John
The same Halloween, Harry Styles was spotted dressed up as icon, Elton John, the Rocketman himself. Styled in John’s signature 1975 Dodgers Stadium performance outfit, a glittery baseball outfit. The similarities are incredible!
3. Emily Ratajkowski as Marge Simpson
Supermodel Emily Ratajkowski dressed up as cartoon character, Marge Simpson from “The Simpsons” in 2015. As silly as this costume is, I must point out the commitment in painting
your entire body yellow for a costume. Of course, Emily looks stunning as always, showing that even in a goofy costume, you can still look your best!
4. Gigi Hadid as Sandy
Another supermodel, Gigi Hadid, was found dressed as the famous Sandy from “Grease” in 2016. With her signature blonde hair, Hadid wore the classic all-black leather outfit of Sandy’s at the end of the iconic film.
5. Mindy Kaling as Elle Woods
Last Halloween, in 2021, Mindy Kaling went to Instagram, broadcasting some amazing costumes all honoring comedic legends. My favorite has to be her amazingly pink Elle Woods look in honor of “Legally Blonde.” With a blonde wig and even a little puppy, Kaling definitely understood the assignment. 6. Lizzo as Baby Yoda
Lizzo is a fashion icon and has taken the world by storm with her music preaching female empowerment. In the year 2021, Lizzo dressed up as the one and only Baby Yoda for Halloween, going as far as wearing a long Yoda robe and painting her whole body blue. That of course is minuscule compared to the face makeup, which is what truly transformed her into the adorable character.
7. LeBron James as Edward Scissorhands
The famous basketball player, LeBron James, took the internet by storm in 2019 when he dressed up as the famous character, Edward Scissorhands. Almost no one expected such a dramatic and well-done costume from the Lakers star, who went all out and perfectly replicated the literal scissor hands.
8. Joe Jonas as Sansa Stark
I couldn’t help but laugh with Joe Jonas when he dressed up as Sansa Stark from Games of Thrones in 2019. Okay, yes, fine. Technically this was not a Halloween costume, but I think
We can all agree it deserves some credit. Wearing a red wig and a floor-length dress, Jonas was seen dressed as his wife, Sophie Turner’s famous character from Game of Thrones in honor of its season 8 premiere.
9. Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner as Gomez and Morticia Addams
And, of course, I couldn’t mention Joe Jonas without bringing up his amazing costume with wife, Sophie Turner. In 2018, the couple dressed up as Gomez and Morticia Addams for Halloween, taking a quite stunning photo that they shared with the internet. Their resemblance is so impressive and is totally worth the praise!
10. Heidi Klum as Fiona
And, lastly, I couldn’t make this list without mentioning the queen of Halloween costumes, Heidi Klum, herself. Throughout the years, she has worked to create flawless and spectacular costumes, showing off artists’ work and her incredible creativity. My personal favorite has to be her 2018 costume as Princess Fiona from “Shrek.”
