7 Cute and Affordable Ideas for Valentine’s day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Scranton chapter.

1. Instead of going out to dinner, make your favorite easy meal at home. Set the table with candles and cute place settings.

2. Have a romantic night under the stars (weather permitting). Set up white lights in or outside with tons of pillows and blankets on the floor. Watch a cute movie with lots of snacks.

3. For those who dislike Valentine’s day but still want to do something with their significant other, poke fun at the day by going to the Salvation Army and picking out each other’s’ outfits. You both have to wear these outfits out to eat.

4. If you are on a strict budget, write letters to each other instead of buying each other gifts. Cheap, easy, and so meaningful.

5. Surprise your significant other at their house with their favorite take out food. Have a picnic.

6. Bake and decorate a cake, choreograph a dance, get creative! It doesn’t have to be strictly romantic, have fun this valentine’s day season!

7. Last but certainly not least, spend it with your girls if you don’t have a date (and you certainly do not need one)! Do face masks, put on a rom-com, and enjoy the company of the ones who will be there for you no matter what.
