1 Month Left: Emotions of a Senior

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Scranton chapter.

We’ve officially (almost) made it four years. I don’t know how but it’s 2015 and we only have 4 weeks until the end of the semester. Seriously, how did this happen? April of senior year, the last month of being a college student. These final days are bound to bring on a million emotions and here are just a few we’re starting to feel.

FearEveryone and anyone is asking you what your plans are come May, and let’s face it 95% of our grade has no idea. Should I be going to grad school? Will I find a job? If you have a job, you ask yourself the dreaded question…. does this mean I can’t wear leggings everyday anymore?!

ExcitementCollege may be ending but our lives are just beginning. Who knows where you’ll end up! Miami, Los Angeles, New York the options are countless! A new city a new adventure!

“Cool”Think about it, it’s kind of cool that we’ve made it this far. Just imagine walking across the stage at graduation thinking wow I did it! I’m a big bad graduate… just pray you don’t pull a Lizzie.

SadnessThe lasts of everything begin. The last pennies, the last time you visit the bookstore, the last time you see Angela at Starbs and the last time Flo swipes you in. (If you still have a meal plan.)

Separation AnxietyThese people have become your family, they’re the ones who are there at your best and worst. The people who help you get through your bad days, surprise you with your favorite food and laugh with you on your good days. Thinking about not having your best friends living down the hall or a town away starts to stress you out.

JealouslyOh first years. You think back to your first year of college, you were so afraid of all the firsts and now as you think about your lasts all you want is to trade places… besides going back to communal bathrooms that is.

ConcernAm I really ready to be a grown up? I don’t think this is a good idea. I mean come on, I’m still worrying about kissing my leggings goodbye.

Ready or not, here the real world comes. So long to our perfect little bubble… just please no one start playing Vitamin C’s “Graduation” yet.

If you thought fighting a case of senioritis, choosing what to watch next on Netflix or writing that paper seemed difficult just wait. Do you remember where you sat four years ago? I sure don’t and nothing seems as impossible right now as trying to find myself in this sea of purple.
