The season we’ve all been waiting for—Spring. Spring not only brings spring break, a sooner end to the semester and warmer weather. It also means frequent trips to the beach between classes and on the weekend, and days lounging at the pool. However, if you go to school in a cooler climate and you’re still tugging on your winter jacket for your 8 a.m., spring is a sign that this is all coming to an end soon—start gearing up for those summer days at the pool as well.

It’s easy to throw on a swim suit and go, but having a successful day at the pool or beach or wherever you’re going takes more preparation than we realize. Between picking out the right swimsuit to deciding which book you want to bring just adds on to the list of struggles.

To make your trips to the beach or pool on a sunny day, I’ve thrown together a list of commonly brought items that are thrown into every gals beach bag. However, not only a list of what ever girl needs for a day by the water, but the STRUGGLES ever girl encounters before even getting there!

1. The Most Important – A Swimsuit

Between bikinis, one-pieces, strapless tops and the whole world of swimsuits—it is hard having to pick just one. We are all guilty of wearing our favorites far too many times, but when deciding what tan line you want to have at the end of the day—the decision gets even tougher.

2. A Towel

This might not sound like a huge struggle, but in the depths of our subconsciousness—it is. We are all mindlessly thinking of our this towel will match our aesthetic and if pictures are taken… Will it look good? Will it match my top?

3. A Book

I’m all for bringing books to the beach or pool, because trying to look at your phone while the sun is glaring it back in your face is not a good time. However, I can never decide what novel I want to bring that I only end up reading for 20 minutes before falling asleep, or getting side-tracked.

4. Something to Cover Your Swimsuit

All us girls wish we could just walk out in public flaunting our cute suits, but sadly, it isn’t really looked nicely upon (like as if). However, it’s already hard enough figuring out what swimsuit to put on, now I have to decide between cut-offs or a dress? Outrageous.

5. Hair

Long hair on a windy day, don’t forget windy beach, is something not to be messed with—after all it’s a tangled mess anyways. There’s many choices between a top knot, braids, or ponytail, and at this point you’re just over making decisions.

Hopefully many of you can relate to this short list of struggles every girl goes through before even leaving her house, and we all know there are many more.

I’d rather deal with these struggles over snow days any day!

Coming from North Carolina, I did not grow up in such a busy hectic city. Although, I have grown a strong passion for writing and blogging through the mist of living in a small town. Along with blogging and writing, I have strongly added fashion into a lot of my content. Now, a freshman in college, I am excited to explore more of what a bigger city like Savannah has to offer.
