Campus Cutie: Breanna Edwards

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SCAD chapter.

Hometown: Back and Forward between Ocala, FL & McDonough, GA

Major: Photography

Relationship Status: Single

Zodiac: Gemini :)

Describe yourself in three words: Quiet, Ambitious, Silly

Her Campus: What are some things that you like to do for fun?

Breanna: I like to read for fun. Haha. I’m a really chill person, so anything that involves Movies or Music and a blanket and food will keep me happy. I also like writing poetry.

HC: How would you describe your “ideal” significant other?

Breanna: Ah, the pressure. Haha. No, Um I like guys who I have things in common with, and guys with a sense of humor that I can talk to easily without it being awkward, because sometimes I can be a very awkward person. I also tend to like guys who are taller than I am. Color doesn’t really matter to me, however I’m all for an interracial relationship J

HC: An ideal first date?

Breanna: For a first date it would be nice to go somewhere quiet, like out for coffee or a walk through the park or something simple where we have a lot of time to talk and can get to know each other.

HC: What’s a pet peeve of yours, or something that you’d consider an absolute deal breaker when it comes to relationships?

Breanna: Guys who cant say what they feel, and avoid situations. We’re all old enough to express our feelings. I don’t want to have to play the guessing game whenever there’s some type of issue or situation.

HC: What made you decide to come to SCAD?

Breanna: I visited SCAD Atlanta when I was in middle school and fell in love. At that time I didn’t even know what type of art I was into.  I just knew I wanted to go to SCAD. Then in high school , after I developed my love for photography, no pun intended, I heard about the other campuses and decided I wanted to be away from home. So I took a visit to Savannah and knew that this was where I wanted to be, I didn’t even research any other schools. Haha I just applied to SCAD.

HC: What initially sparked your interest in photography?

Breanna: My granddad always collected old vintage things, so he had a bunch of cameras around the house that I use to play with. I got my first digital camera when I was 10 and couldn’t put it down.

HC: What would you say is your favorite thing to photograph?

Breanna: People, Stories, Models, Fashion. All of the above. J

HC: What has been your favorite photo shoot to date?

Breanna: My favorite photo shoot so far would definitely have to be the Editorial I did called “Thief”. Thief  is based the storyline off of a book, also called “Thief”  by Tarryn Fisher. I think one of the reasons I love it so much is because it’s a love story, and also this was one of my first full length editorials where I got to include a detailed storyline and also work with a bunch of talented individuals such as yourself, and Joshua Mcleod, and also such amazing models (Montana and Megan)

HC: If you didn’t major in photography, what do you think would be another area of interest for you?

Breanna: I honestly couldn’t see myself doing anything but photography, but if I had to pick It’d probably be either graphic design, or something along the lines of that.

HC: Where can you usually be found on campus?

Breanna: In the photo building, sometimes I feel like I live there.

My name is Tenisha, and I’m a junior Fashion Marketing student at the Savannah College of Art & Design. I am so excited to be a HerCampus writer this year! I am new to the team, and will be writing Campus Cuties articles in the coming months. Some of my interests include sports, music, traveling, and fashion of course. I was an athlete in high school, and I love to participate in different intramural sports whenever those times come around. I sing, so I love all types of music. Neo-Soul, jazz and rhythm and blues are my favorites, and concerts actually account for a lot of the traveling that I do these days. I’d say growing up in a military family gave me a love for that. And last but definitely not least, there’s fashion. If I had to describe my style with one word, honestly, I don’t think I could do it — I think that’s the beauty of fashion and style. It’s all a form of self-expression on the outside that gives people a small taste of who you are, or even what you’re feeling on the inside. My biggest fashion inspiration is Solange Knowles. She has impeccable taste, great music, and not to mention an amazing big sister who happens to be my favorite artist (hello, Beyoncé)! Like Solange, I love bold prints, bright colors, and pieces that are simply unique & eccentric. I just like to have fun with it! I have a fashion and lifestyle blog, Establish the New Black, where I document my personal style, inspiration, and some daily happenings pertaining to the world of fashion. I am truly excited to build on my writing and journalism skills through this internship. This is going to be a great semester, and I look forward to sharing this journey with you!
