Everyone is rushing to the art supply stores trying to buy the same materials and make sure everything is in order for the quarter. These first few weeks can seem overwhelming but it’s important to take advantage of social events going on. Check out these exciting events before the quarter picks up.Â

Art Sale – September 25th, Poetter Hall, Noon- 7:30pm
Artwork from current students and alumni will be for sale at discounted prices.Â
Who Framed Roger Rabbit – September 26th, Trustees Theater, 7pm
* Don’t forget to grab a scoop from Leopolds after the showing. Lavender is September’s monthly special and one of my personal favorites.Â
Exhibitions at the Museum- 601 Turner Blvd.
Most of the exhibits at the museum will be changing either on September 28th or October 2nd. All of the featured artists that are definitely worth seeing. Andy Warhol, Jack Leigh and Li Hui are some of the artists being displayed. Remember that admission for SCAD students is free. For more info on hours or the exhibitions visit the museum’s website.Â

Blick Art Materials is searching for submissions to be displayed for their annual Tricks & Treats halloween event.Â
Here are the requirements to be entered into this juried art show:
- All ages
- Artwork must be 9″x 12″
- Must have a halloween theme
- Must be submitted by October 1st (piece will be displayed October 15th – November 1st)
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will recieve gift cards and other prizes. Â This Tricks & Treats event will be on October 30th, 5-8pm. Contact the store directly for additional questions.Â
Forsyth Farmers Market- Saturdays, Forsyth Park, 9am – 1pm
Stroll underneath the Spanish moss while buying local fresh produce.Â
