But a campus celebrity is so much more than someone who throws the best parties or has the most Instagram followers. A SCAD campus celebrity is someone who has a passion and goes after it. They take the initiative to stand out from the over 10,000 students on campus and create their own brand. From business owners, to bloggers, to internship prodigies, SCAD campus celebrities are students who are guaranteeing their future success.
Want to become a campus celebrity? There are only two steps you need to follow:
1. Determine what motivates you to get up in the morning and share this passion with others.
Everyone has that one thing they love more than anything else, whether it be fashion, food, fitness, photography, or even cleaning! Every business stems from a single idea or passion. Love DIY jewelry? Start selling your creations to students on campus. Fitness obsessed? Start your own lifestyle blog and share your workout tips and tricks with others.
2. Become a model student.
The reason you are in college is to get an education, so take advantage of it. Skip the party and spend that extra three hours on your project to bump your grade from a B to an A. Not only will it make a better impression on your professor, but you may be able to use the project for your portfolio! At SCAD, most professors are industry professionals, and if there is ever an internship opportunity they are asked to refer students for, you’ll want your name to be on that list.
