As a student, we all the difficulties of balancing school work, a job, and having a school work let alone sleeping. I chose Ankita as our campus celebrity because she can do all of this and stays fabulous while doing it.

Name: Ankita Patel

Hometown: Savannah, GA

Major/year: Fashion Marketing & Management, Senior

To me you’re a professional multitasker because you take on a lot of responsibility at once. What are your most important responsibilities? : I am a full time student, stylist at Express (the clothing store), my family owns a liquor store in downtown savannah so I’m there as much as I can to help out, and because of my Indian culture I have a lot of weddings and religious ceremonies I have to attend, then there’s the fact that I actually like to go out and have fun on the weekends.

How long have you been working, going to school, and balancing all your family events?: I started working at Express right before SCAD, so for the last four years.

How do find the time to do everything and still have time to have a social life? I work really hard to get as much work as possible done during my classes, but usually I’ll be up late at night during the week getting my school work and the weekends are used for more social events including work.

Do you have an advise for other SCAD students who might want to work while being in school?: It is doable and if you like having some extra cash, do it! You just have to know how to schedule your time properly. Keep in mind that school comes first. You’re paying a lot of money to attend this school and receive an education; it should always be your first priority. Know when to cut back on work and focus more on school.

Since you’re a senior Fashm major, what are your plans for after graduation?: I’m like most fashion majors who want to move the Big Apple right after graduation, I want to take my time saving money to get the city. I plan to move to Atlanta and work for a marketing company. I love taking other peoples work and showing haw amazing it is to the world, almost like a proud parent.

Thank you to Ankita Patel with taking the time to answer my questions and for being an amazing SCAD student who can really do it all!
