5 Pieces Every Cool Girl Needs Going Into Spring

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SCAD chapter.

We all know that difficult transition from winter to spring all too well. As the weather gradually warms up, you ask yourself “Is it really cold enough to wear this sweater?” or “I wanna wear this skirt, but will I freeze my legs off?”If you’re anything like me, then you know that there is nothing worse than going through the day feeling uncomfortable because of a poor outfit decision based off forgetting to chech your weather app . Here are 5 staple pieces I am preparing to pull out once the weather warms up just a tad.

1. Culottes

Not pants, but not quite shorts either. Culottes come in an array of colors, silhouttes, and even fabrics. Such as denim and even knit. Dress it up or dress it down – culottes literally belongs in every girl’s closet as we approach spring season.

2. Printed Jumpsuit

Jummpsuits are playful, easy going, and super easy to wear. But, since there’s still a chill in the air, opt out for the short jumpsuits and choose a pants style instead. This instantly makes you look ten times chic-er. Find you a pair in stores like Asos and TopShop.

3. Oversized Denim Jacket

In all honestly, who doesn’t look instantly cool when they throw on an oversized denim jacket? The oversized factor gives it a vintage and nostalgic feel – bringing us back to the 90’s. Stores like NastyGal has the absolute best options to choose from!

4. Eye Catching Midi Skirt

On the days you need to make a statement, but also want to feel relaxed and comfortable at the same time, then the midi skirt is the way to go. I suggest choosing one with a bold color, or even better, embellishments. Paired with a simple crew neck tee, or even your favorite graphic tee is the best way to look great on the days you need to conquer the world. I’ve spotted the cutest midis at stores such as Antropologie and Zara.

5. Boater Hat

So if you’re not the type to rock beanies (how many of us can really pull that look off?) then you might want to something a bit cmore fashionable like a boater hat. They can be found practically anywhere, and who would realy sacrifice keeping their head warm to look cute? Not me! Pick up one at your local Free People because they have a ton!
