SCADFash’s second exhibition did a complete 180 from the classically chic looks from Oscar de la Renta to present Daniel Lismore’s gaudy and exotic “Be Yourself; Everyone Else Is Already Taken.”
Lismore is known for being “London’s most outrageous dresser” and this exhibit makes it clear that he is dominating the fashion and art scene with his terra-cotta inspired army. You might notice that members of this army not only have faces that were molded to match Lismore’s, but his signature makeup look that features long eyelashes and big red lips as well.

Lismore loves using clothing from his own wardrobe for his pieces; so one can expect layers upon layers of luxurious clothing inspired from cultures around the world. “Be Yourself” includes clothing and jewelry from India, Thailand and China. The exhibit also features certain fabrics and jewelry worn by celebrities like Nicki Minaj, Azealia Banks and more that can be seen in pop and rap music videos.

The Daniel Lismore exhibition will be on display at SCADFash until April 1. SCADFash is free for all SCAD students and can be accessed through the parking garage at the main SCAD Atlanta building.
