Quarantine Graduation Ideas

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SCAD ATL chapter.

Graduation is just a week away for the SCAD Class of 2020. As you know, we’re having a virtual ceremony this year due to the coronavirus. Therefore, a lot of graduates have to find different ways to celebrate safely. Here are some ideas that I came up with (and some I plan to use myself) to have that graduation celebration you deserve:

Have a graduation photoshoot

I always say that photoshoots are the way to go when it comes to celebrations. Graduation pics are a great way to express your accomplishment of earning your diploma. Put on your best outfit, grab your cap and gown, and have a friend or family member take a ton of awesome pics of you to kick off your graduation day.

Celebrate with a graduation brunch

There’s nothing more wonderful than a nice brunch with the ones you love. Cook up a good breakfast for the family (or have them make breakfast), and celebrate your big day with a big feast.

Host a watch party for your virtual ceremony

Let’s face it: we all really want to watch that virtual ceremony but want to do it with others. Gather your family (small groups, of course) and watch your school’s virtual ceremony.

Create a graduation video (or three)

So this is one that I’m personally doing and I have up to three videos ready that are related to my senior year. If you want to make just one video, find some clips that you captured of your college years from your camera roll or social media and convert them in to one wholesome montage video. It will be sentimental to look back on those memories you captured and share with your friends and family.

Host a drive-by car parade

Car parades have been becoming popular for grads and students, in general. If you have friends and family who live nearby, have them drive by and bring signs that congratulate you and you can celebrate with them from a safe distance.

Get a custom sign for your lawn

A custom lawn sign is a good way to show people who go by your home that you’re about to graduate this year. You can have one made at different places (I got mine from Party City). So consider decorating your lawn or front lot with a grad sign!

My inquisitive nature enables me to discover efficient ways of streamlining marketing approaches to reach target audience. The process of translating various topics into a collection of garments after intensive research and visual development, makes me feel empowered because it is a unique medium of self-expression. However, I am fully aware of the importance of marketing a product in order to gain the best results which makes me equally passionate about both the aspects of Fashion World
