I have been regularly going to Crumbl for about two whole years now, and it’s genuinely one of my favorite places. When I bring up my affinity for Crumbl, the response is usually one of three things:
- “That place is so overrated.”
- “What’s so special about it?”
- “Oh my gosh! Me too!
Obviously, I usually could not care less about the first two, but I figured it might be time to share exactly why I love this place so much.
First off, Crumbl has a weekly menu, meaning each week has a different lineup of flavors. Personally, my favorite part of every Monday is going into the Crumbl app and looking at the lineup. I always get so excited to see if my favorite cookies are coming back, and it just adds a bit of whimsy to the usual lousy Monday.
Speaking of the app, their reward system is so amazing and actually worth it. You get 13 “crumbs” for every dollar you spend, and when you reach 500, you can get a free cookie! The best part about their system is that your points don’t expire until one year after you get them, so there’s no rush to spend them, and you can actually save up to get a free four-pack, for example.
One valid criticism is when people say the cookies are too big and are never cooked all the way through. Sometimes, I have found the cookies are too thick and don’t cook all the way through, but I don’t mind a gooier and softer cookie. However, if that’s not for you, they have mini cookies that are much more manageable to eat and not as soft in the middle.
I started going to Crumbl with my friends in my junior year of high school, and we were there for the release of Mini Mondays, which was before they had the mini cookies on their permanent menu every day. My friends and I actually had previously discussed the brilliant idea of Crumbl making smaller cookies so you could taste test the flavors much easier. Little did we know they were already working on our exact idea, so you can imagine how ecstatic we were when it was revealed.
Our love for Crumbl got to the point where we were driving 45 minutes one-way every week, even during harsh winter conditions in the middle of January. Our trips became less frequent in our senior year as we got more focused on other things, and now, as we’re split up at different colleges, we can only talk to each other about our old trips and update each other whenever we take solo trips to Crumbl.
The distance is a completely different story for my best friend who lives in Spain. She was a foreign exchange student in our senior year of high school, and naturally, I had to take her to my favorite place on Earth before we cheered at the football games every Friday night. She absolutely adores Crumbl and still sends me their posts on social media and reminisces on our hangouts every week.
Everyone around me knew my proud love for Crumbl, I got asked to my junior prom and senior homecoming with Crumbl cookies and a matching poster. The best part is that these were done by separate boys, with no input from me at all.
I guess my love for Crumbl is more so rooted in all the great experiences I’ve had there and all my friendships that have blossomed with Crumbl’s help rather than just the cookies themselves. Even if I can’t go as often as I used to, or as often as I’d like, it will always have the fondest place in my heart no matter what other people have to say.
