Skincare is such an important aspect of my morning routine, yet is something I struggled with my entire life. I always had combination skin. Basically, I struggled with both oily and dry areas on my face. In the midst of quarantine, I made creating a skincare routine one of my goals. I spent hours watching skin doctors on Youtube or keeping up with skincarebyhyram on TikTok.

After months and months of crafting my ideal skincare routine, I was finally feeling good. Both dry and oily parts of my skin were getting better, but I still struggled with those singular breakouts. We both know how bad that is when your skin is looking great, and you wake up the next morning looking like you have a third eye. Eventually I got so aggravated I tried those little tricks you see online like honey, green tea, crushed aspirin all those silly little Safari tricks, that clearly did not help. It was so annoying because I would always keep up with my skincare; washing my face twice a day, actively using serums and applying sunscreen. You name it; I was doing it.

I still have been struggling with bursts of breakouts since I’ve got to college (most commonly during my life when im facing increased amounts of stress). When I heard that Her Campus was doing a collaboration with Sweet Chef, I was so excited to be able to try their blemish patches. Sweet Chef is a brand which originated from Korea and is really well known for their vegan / cruelty free formula. Each of its products is curated with great skincare vitamins and veggies, which are a great way of detoxifying our bodies.

Another great aspect of Sweet Chef is their commitment to sustainability. This company puts in greats amount of effort to make sure its skincare is also protecting our planet. All their products come in recyclable containers. They do not generate microplastics, and they plan to have all their sheet masks biodegradable!

Now, I have had my attempt with blemish patches. I’ve circled through all the main skincare brands but nothing cleared my breakout and also left my face feeling refreshed… until now. Coming back to school after the break, I was flooded with tests and homework, my stress levels were higher than ever, and I noticed little breakouts all over my face. I started using the carrot ginger blemish rescue patches just by placing one on the singular pimples and leaving it on overnight. I kept up with this for about four days and next thing I knew my pimple was unnoticeable.

This specific product includes ingredients such as ginger, carrot, salicylic acid and hydrocolloid. Each of these works together to detoxify, exfoliate and moisturize the skin. This leaves your skin looking and feeling fresh on top of healing and preventing future breakouts.

I was in love with the way my skin looked after keeping up using this product, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who struggles with breakouts frequently!
