Every new chapter of life, I like to set some goals. With the semester almost finished, I’ll have more time to focus on myself. Some of these are bucket list items, others are simple habits I’m trying to implement into my life. I hope to come back to school in the fall having accomplished all of these things.
Stick to my running plan.
I have never been a runner, but with the weather getting nicer, I’ve started a running journey. The most I’ve run so far is four miles, which is crazy for me. I signed up for a 10K with one of my best friends from home, and I can’t wait to complete it. I’m scared right now that I won’t be able to, so I need to stick to my plan. I’ve always been into lifting weights and yoga, so I’m very proud of myself for trying new things.
Complete my physical TBR.
My bookshelf at home is almost full. There aren’t many books on it that I haven’t read. I want to limit myself to not buying more books until every book on my shelf has been read. This is so difficult with so many new releases coming out. I think a fun way to do this would be to try a 24-hour reading challenge. I watch these reading vlogs on YouTube and have always wanted to try it for myself. With a bit of extra time on my hands this summer, I might be able to.
Do as many fun things as possible.
This might seem silly, but it is one of my main goals. The summer before getting a job was filled with empty days. I spent every second outside or with friends. Now that I am kind of grown up, most of my days are spent at my job. I absolutely love my job, but with that being said, it doesn’t give me much time for other things. I want to spend the time outside of work and summer classes going on fun adventures.
I am already looking forward to something I have planned in July. I am going to a music festival in Chicago! This will likely be the highlight of my summer. But besides this, I want to make sure I take time to do other fun things. I really want to go camping, shop at my local farmers’ market, and take many pool days.
