Some Fun Ideas for Winter Break

Winter time is here, and you know what that means – winter activities! With so much snowfall, family and friend free time, and holiday cheer, it’s impossible not to find anything to do in the snowy season. So, if you are looking for ways to enjoy your winter break, whether it’s inside or outside, here are a couple of suggestions you may want to try!

#1 — Arts & Crafts

Sometimes, it’s a little too cold to go outside. On days like these, my personal favorite activities are none other than arts and crafts! Winter is the perfect time for it too, since everyone is normally always in town, and the holiday season calls for some cute decor. So pull up a chair, gather the people you cherish, and run some of your favorite Christmas movies or even gossip over some hot chocolate! If you can’t think of any craft ideas, here are some you may want to consider:

  • 3D Paper Snowflakes
  • Paper Chains
  • Christmas Drawings
  • Wreath Made of Sticks
  • Bird Feeders
  • Ornaments
  • DIY Snow Globes
  • Santa and Reindeer Cut-Outs

#2 — Snow Tubing

Winter activities are fun, but not everybody can ski or snowboard. That’s why I always think that when and doubt, just go snow tubing! This activity has no limits on age or fun, so invite all the friends you can! All you need is something to ride down a snowy slope: either a tube or even a sled. And if you have multiple, you can even race people to the finish line! As long as you’re safe, the worst part about your day is only the climb back to the top. But inevitably, going down again will make it all worthwhile.

#3 – Christmas Shopping

Nothing beats a great day at the mall, and better yet, during the holiday season! Even though I’m a girl, and may be slightly biased, I always have the most fun shopping around for gifts and buying clothes. And it’s not just shopping that you can do, there’s also: movie theaters, indoor games, and yummy food stops. I think I appreciate this time of the year the most, because I get to see more people, and also enjoy the amazing environment of eye-popping Christmas colors. If we can be connected by at least one thing, it is that our shopping for or with the ones we love spreads much-needed positivity to end our long year.

#4 – Building a Snowman

If I could instill in every person to continue one tradition, it’s to always build a snowman in the winter season! Now that most of us are grown-ups, we have a much easier time rolling giant snowballs together than we did when we were tiny. We should be taking more advantage of this, making the coolest and biggest snowmen around! Snow is such a rare occurrence, and really good buildable snow may only happen every so often – so it’s important to use that time wisely!
