Halloween and all spooky, scary things have always been my thing. From scary stories around the campfire to spooky Halloween costumes, I love every part of it. My favorite part, however, just might be the movies that I watch every year.

I love being able to get into the Halloween spirit by watching some of my favorite movies. Whether I am by myself or with others, I love sitting on the couch with my snacks, wrapped up in my favorite blanket, enthralled in a movie that I have already seen about a thousand times.

So, without further ado, here are 10 of my favorite movies that I watch to get in the Halloween mood, and what I love about them.

1. Hocus Pocus

Since I first watched this movie when I was a little kid, I have always found it to be hilarious. It always puts me in the Halloween mood watching the witches chase the children around and how clueless they are while doing it.

2. The Nightmare Before Christmas

This movie is such a good one, from the romance between Jack and Sally to them finding out who they truly are is amazing. I love all the different monsters as well. They help me get into the spooky vibes each year and have inspired some of my Halloween costumes before.

3. Halloweentown

This movie is such a classic one and it is so much fun to watch all the monsters living normal lives. I also love seeing how realistic they all look; it surprises me every time. I also love the fact of the family coming together and building a better relationship; it makes me happy every time.

4. Beetlejuice

I feel like Beetlejuice is such an iconic character from the actual movie to Broadway musical. He has so much energy and it is so much fun to watch the character on the screen. I also love how many different things we see in this movie from the afterlife characters to different dimensions. It is always fun to watch.

5. The Addams Family

I have loved the Addams Family for a long time, and I love the darker vibe the family has. I also love how much the family cares for each other. I also adore the relationship between Gomez and Morticia. It’s such an iconic marriage.

6. Goosebumps

I love this movie personally because not only does it put me in the Halloween spirit, but it also brings to life the characters in the books that I read as a kid. I also love the acting in the movie.

7. Hubie Halloween

To start with, this movie is hilarious, and I love Adam Sandler movies, so it seems like the best of both worlds to me. From the Halloween vibes to the amazing comedy, it is one way I love to end a hard day.

8. Casper

Ever since I was a little kid, I have loved the movie Casper. It is my favorite ghost movie. Casper is such an adorable ghost, and it makes it that much better. It is also a movie that is amazing for little kids. When I babysat, the kids and I would watch it together.

9. Ghost Busters

This movie is a definite classic, and we even got a catchy song from the franchise. My favorite part about this movie is, honestly, not even the movie itself but instead watching it with my family. Despite that, I love the ghosts in this movie too; they are hilarious.

10. Spooky Buddies

This movie is one of my childhood movies. My brother and I have watched almost all the Buddies movies. This one was my favorite though because of the cute Halloween vibe and the cute dog costumes that they have.

That is a list of my 10 favorite movies to get me in the Halloween mood. From ghosts and ghouls to cute puppies, I would recommend these movies to anyone.
