A St. Bonaventure Spring

We left for spring break with sunglasses and Sperry’s, and returned to campus with snow boots and scarves. It isn’t uncommon to return from vacation wishing to be anywhere else. But the Bonnies have so much to look forward to, no matter how blinding the blizzards (or library fires) are.

Here are a few thoughts that help me get through these last few still-feels-like-winter weeks.

  1. Offseason for winter sports

With winter sports seasons coming to an end, hundreds of student athletes are ready to get back out on the weekends. That means twice the parties and new pong partners. I’m in!

2. Twist & Shake Opens Again

Sorry Tasty Time, nothing compares to Twist & Shake. Get excited ice cream fiends!

  1. Quad Parties & Garden Lawn Parties

Barefoot soccer, tanning, twisted teas, and shock tops. What’s better than splitting a cooler with your closest friends?

  1. Alleghany River Valley Trail Adventures

After class, you’ll find tons of students and families enjoying the view on the trail. It’s so much prettier dressed in green.

  1. Watching Games on the Hill

When your weekday tests serve a swift punch to the throat, you can look forward to recouping on a blanket while watching a sports game on the hill. Nothing’s better than screaming for your fellow Bonnies as the sun sets.

  1. Spring Weekend

Kickball tournament, free food in the Richter lot, team t-shirts, and an indefinite 4-5 day bender. It’s only the most-awaited weekend of the year. I can’t wait.

Ignore the weather now as much as you can, and let’s all pray the library doesn’t try to off itself again. Though the best holiday of the year (St. Patrick’s Day) just passed, the spring weather is so close though it feels so far away. We just need to get through these last few weeks one event at a time.
