Quick and Easy Halloween Makeup for the Last Minute College Gal

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SBU chapter.

It’s that time of year again! Halloween is just a few days away, your friends have all been talking for months about what you’re going to be, and then suddenly… you have NO costume. It happens every year, and there’s no way we’d ever settle for some basic Pinterest costume. If this sounds like you, then you’re in luck! This Halloween I’ve come up with some simple makeup and costume ideas that are way more of a treat than trick.

  1. The “Sweet but Twisted” Clown

Step 1: Apply foundation to your entire face.

Step 2: Use a red/pink eyeshadow to create the circles around your eyes.

Step 3: Apply a metallic shadow to your lid, inner crease, and brow bone.

Step 4: Take a black liquid eyeliner to draw the triangular “clown lines” from your lids up through your eyebrows. Repeat the process on the bottom lash line to upper cheeks.

Step 5: Create a winged eyeliner look.

Step 6: Apply mascara.

Step 7: Apply a highlight to your nose, cupids bow, and cheekbones.

Step 8: Draw a heart on the tip of your nose with black eyeliner and fill in with red face paint or lipstick.

Step 9: Outline lips with dark lipliner.

Step 10: Apply red lipstick and blend out lipliner.

Step 11: Set your makeup.

Costume: Red crop top, black mini skirt, pigtails, and voila!

  1. The “Wild Thang”

Step 1: Apply foundation to your entire face.

Step 2: Brush eyebrows upward and fill in.

Step 3: Apply a soft brown shadow to your crease.

Step 4: Apply a darker brown shadow to your outer corners.

Step 5: Apply a gold shadow to your lid.

Step 6: Apply a highlight shadow to your inner corners and brow bone.

Step 7: BLEND!

Step 8: Apply soft brown shadow and gold shadow to your lower lash line to create a smoky affect.

Step 9: Create a winged liner on upper lash line.

Step 10: Apply mascara to top and bottom lashes.

Step 11: Apply white face paint stripes to one cheek and black face paint dots across opposite brow.

Step 12: Apply red “scratch” marks to chest and arms.

Costume: Purchase any animal print fabric and wrap it into a skirt. Make sure to wear a black top and any “jungle like” accessories you can get your hands on!

  1. The “Seductive Skeleton”

Step 1: Outline dark features of the skeleton in black.

Step 2: Create jagged skeleton nose.

Step 3: Draw on skeleton teeth with black face paint starting on the lips.

Step 4: Fill in white space with white face paint and a brush.

Step 5: Apply black eyeshadow to skeleton teeth to make them stand out.

Step 6: Fill in black “hollows” of the cheeks with black face paint.

Step 7: Apply a silver shadow to crease.

Step 8: Apply dark grey shadow to outer crease and blend.

Step 9: Apply black eyeliner to top lid.

Step 10: Apply mascara to top lashes.

Step 11: Set makeup.

Costume: Rip a black oversized T-shirt, Wear fishnet stockings with black thigh highs, and go kill it girl.
