There is just something about fall that makes everything feel a little more special. Between the changing leaves and cooler weather, it is easily one of my favorite times of the year. With winter right around the corner, I always feel like there are so many activities I want to squeeze in before the leaves are gone and the snow starts falling. Here are some of the things I think everyone should try this fall!

1. Visit a Pumpkin Patch

You can’t have fall without visiting a pumpkin patch! Whether you are picking out the perfect pumpkin to carve or just walking around and enjoying all the decorations, it is such a fun way to spend an afternoon.

2. Go Apple Picking

Growing up in apple country, apple picking has always been one of my favorite fall traditions. It’s something I look forward to doing every year, and it never really gets old. Whether you’re going with family or friends, spending an afternoon at an orchard is such a fun way to enjoy the season. My personal favorite apples are EverCrisp!

3. Take a Scenic Drive

One of my favorite parts of fall is seeing all the leaves change colors. Taking a drive through the countryside, especially somewhere with lots of trees, is such an easy way to enjoy the season. Sometimes you don’t even need a destination. Just put on some music, enjoy the views, and take in all the different colors before they’re gone.

4. Have a Halloween Movie Night

When it comes to Halloween movies, I’m not exactly someone who enjoys being scared. Instead of horror movies, I prefer something a little more lighthearted. One movie I make sure to watch every year is Hubie Halloween. It has become my own little Halloween tradition, and it wouldn’t feel like October without watching it at least once. Whether you have a favorite Halloween classic or are looking for something new, a movie night is always a fun way to celebrate the season.

5. Bake Something Fall

Fall is the perfect excuse to spend some time in the kitchen. From pumpkin shaped bread and apple crisp to maple cookies, there are so many seasonal recipes to try. Even if baking isn’t something you normally do, finding a simple recipe and trying it with friends or family can make for a fun afternoon.

6. Visit a Fall Market

Fall markets are a great way to enjoy everything the season has to offer. Between local vendors, seasonal food, hayrides, and fun activities, there is usually something for everyone. It’s also a great opportunity to support local businesses while enjoying a little bit of fall!

7. Have a Cozy Night In

Sometimes the best fall activity is staying in. Put on your favorite pajamas, grab a cozy blanket, and spend the night relaxing. Whether you watch a movie, catch up on your favorite shows, work on a puzzle, or just spend time with friends, it’s nice to have an evening where you don’t have to worry about going anywhere.

Fall always seems to go by faster than I expect, which makes it even more important to enjoy the little things while they’re here. Whether you manage to fit every activity into your schedule or just find time for one or two, there are so many ways to make the season memorable!

Hi! I’m Addison, I love writing about all the different parts of my life. When I’m not in class or working, I’m usually watching a movie, reading a book, or spending time with my friends. I’m excited to use HER Campus to share stories about my life at college, books I love, and the little things that make my life more fun.

I’m currently studying Finance at St. Bonaventure University and am interested in pursuing a career in Contract law. My education and work experiences have taught me the importance of being hardworking, independent, and willing to try new things.

Outside of school and work, I’m passionate about volunteering and giving back to my community. I’ve spent years volunteering with organizations that support veterans and their families, and I also enjoy finding new ways to get involved on campus. I love reading, watching movies, spending time with friends and family, and traveling.
