Shopping for makeup products can be very difficult. Everyone has a different opinion about each product which makes pulling the trigger on buying them terrifying sometimes. Some people also do not have time to look for new makeup products. As a person who has been constantly shopping for makeup since they were 12 years old, I do have what I consider “expertise” in this area. So here are my ride or die products that I think everyone needs to try.

1. Elf Halo glow beauty wands

I recently picked this up on an Ulta trip in July. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have never really been into contour because I do not know how to, but these made it so easy for me and made my jawline look so good. I have the contour, highlighter and blush. The contour and blush are my absolute favorite. I use both of them after I apply my liquids like concealer and foundation. It is vital though that you apply all of these before you put any powder on your face. The highlighter I am still kind of on the fence about but it is not awful. I am just not used to a liquid highlighter so it is definitely an adjustment. Either way, 10/10 recommend these to anyone if you are just getting into makeup or have been wearing makeup for years like me.

2. Covergirl clean fresh yummy gloss

This lip gloss is one of the best lip products I have ever stumbled upon. When I first arrived at college this year, I noticed that I had forgotten every single lip product I owned. Safe to say I was heartbroken. On my Walmart run that day, I found a couple of different lip products to replace the ones I left at home. The one that has stuck with me ever since is this Covergirl lip gloss. It is the shiniest lip gloss ever which I love. I own the shade “My Strawbooty”. It is my absolute favorite; I wear it every single day. The taste of the lip gloss is also so good; it is a very fruity, refreshing flavor. This was one of my more impulse beauty purchases at college but by far my favorite.

3. Smashbox Studio skin 24-hour wear hydrating foundation

This is a product I have been using since around 8th grade. It is the best foundation I have found for my skin. My skin type is very dry in the winter and closer to combination skin in the spring. This foundation fits all of my needs and lasts me a long time. It stays on all day if I set it with a good powder. It gives a nice shine to the skin while also having a close-to-matte look. I 100% recommend this product to anyone looking for a foundation to use on different occasions. The shade range is also amazing, there are a ton of options. It is harder to find now than it used to be, but it is still my absolute favorite. The price point is a little bit more on the expensive side but it is completely worth it because my bottle lasts me almost a year.

4. NYX jumbo eye pencil in the color milk

I have sworn by this product since my junior year of high school. I remember when it went viral on Tik Tok and everybody wanted this product. Most people use it in their inner corner to give a little shine to make them look more awake. I like to use this product and add my Fenty Highlighter on top of it for a little extra glow. This is my secret to waking up early for classes and wanting to not look tired. I have gone through multiple of these because of how often I use it. If you are looking for a cheap makeup product to add to your routine this is the perfect one.

5. Maybelline Master Precise all-day liquid eyeliner

This is a product that I have just started using recently. I never really was an eyeliner girl until around last fall. The first liquid eyeliner I really started with was this one and I have refused to switch since I found it. It is perfect for beginners who are not familiar with eyeliner. It is easy to use since it is just a liquid pen. Especially if you are in a rush getting ready, this one gets the job done in under a minute for each eye. It also has a very long wear time. Sometimes I accidentally fall asleep in my makeup and my eyeliner will still look good the next morning. I swear by this for anyone no matter how long you have been using eyeliner.
