Throughout the year, I go through phases of listening to so many different artists, and I feel like every artist fits into each season. It’s almost like a cycle; I listen to the same artists every season, while of course mixing in a few new ones. Everyone seems to relate to its corresponding season.
Summer is such a feel-good, wind-in-your-hair vibe. This summer, I listened to a lot of Frank Ocean, Sabrina Carpenter, Fleetwood Mac, and various country artists like Little Big Town. I love blasting music with all my windows down for everyone to hear. It is just the best.
It is also the best time for concerts. I live about 20 minutes away from the Lakeview Amphitheater in Syracuse, so it is really easy for me and my friends to go to the concerts there.
This summer, I got to see Avril Lavigne, Luke Bryan, Little Big Town, and the Jonas Brothers. It was such a good concert season this year, and I will look back on those memories with my best friends forever. Â
Now for fall. Fall is cozy vibes, cuddled up reading a good book, or watching your favorite movies. I associate fall with Sza, Clario, TV Girl, and Gracie Abrams.
Personally, I love the season’s music so much. I think fall music is just more calming and makes you get all of your feelings out. My favorite fall album is definitely Ctrl by Sza. I can just listen to that album on repeat, it’s so good.
Winter, now, even though winter is my least favorite season, my favorite artist of all time, Lana Del Rey, fits into the winter category. I’m not sure what it is, but something about her is just so winter. Especially Ultraviolence, which also happens to be in my top five Lana albums.
Others for winter must be Suki Waterhouse, another one of my all-time favs. I got to see her in concert in December, so I think that’s why I relate her to winter; the Marias and the Weeknd are definitely giving winter. They just match the vibes of hot chocolate, skiing, and all things winter.
Last but not least is spring, not the worst but not the best season. I really love spring music because it is just such a feel-good time and just knowing that summer is about to come is the best.
Tyler the Creator, Steve Lacy, and Kali Uchis all just match those vibes with their catchy songs and amazing vocals. But specifically, my favorite spring album is Kali’s album called Isolation. It seems like every spring, I always have that album on repeat, no matter what; it’s just so good.
Music is one of my favorite things in the world and I love relating it back to pretty much everything, so I had such a fun time relating it back to the seasons and can’t wait to go back to listening to Ctrl by Sza.
