Traveling is fun. I love exploring a different city and finding cool little spots whether there is a café, restaurant, hiking trail, quirky bookstore, etc. Exploring a new place is such a fun thing to do. If you go somewhere well-known there are probably tourist spots and attractions to visit, such as the Statue of Liberty in New York City or Piccadilly Circus in London. If you travel somewhere less touristy, there are likely to be local gems to explore and check out.

There are so many places on this planet that I would love to visit. There are so many cultures to learn about and traditions or customs to experience. Something that I love about traveling is that it makes you appreciate diversity. You learn how different people live their lives and compare and contrast their experiences with yours. In many parts of America, people are fast-paced and very independent and work-oriented. In other countries, people may be more dependent upon each other or focus on working to live rather than living to work. It is always interesting to experience other cultures, cuisines, and customs.

Here are some of the places I would love to travel to:

Spain

There are many places in Spain I would love to visit. The Sagrada Familia is a beautiful basilica in Barcelona, which is still structurally incomplete. Marbella is a city on the southern coast of the Andalucía region with Mediterranean beaches.

Greece

I would love to visit the ancient ruins and even the coastal cities and smaller islands. The younger Percy Jackson fan inside of me is still fascinated by Greek mythology and history.

Dominican Republic

I have always wanted to go on a service trip here. Whether it’s building a school or teaching English to children. Sometimes it’s important to give back and travel to help others and do good. You are heavily immersed in the culture and still get to explore the area in your free time, but you get to help others while traveling.

Chicago

I have been through the O’Hare airport many times and I have stayed in hotels during long layovers before, but I have yet to explore the city. I would love to try deep dish pizza and compare it to New York style slices. The Cloud Gate sculpture, aka the Bean, is definitely an attraction on my bucket list.

Australia

The Sydney Opera House is such an iconic and beautiful work of architecture. I would also love to see kangaroos and koalas in their natural habitat in the land down under.

If traveling is something you are ever able to do in the future, I highly recommend it. It is eye opening and such a great experience. Consider a service trip or try to understand more about the places you visit. Learning about new places and different cultures can be insightful and add to the fun of a vacation.
