I love Halloween, but I’m indecisive and procrastinate a lot. This leads me to not decide on a costume until the last minute. If you’re like me, here are some easy last minute Halloween costumes.

1) A Black cat

This is probably one of the most basic and overdone costumes, but it’s perfect for the last minute. All it requires is all black clothing and a pair of cat ears. For makeup, just use black eyeliner to draw on whiskers and a nose. This is best for people who procrastinate until the day of to find a costume.

2) A Witch

Similar to a black cat, this easy costume is centered around an all-black outfit. A dress looks best, but it can work with a cute top and a skirt or pants as well. To finish the costume, a pair of black boots and a witch hat. For some optional accessories, a pair of gloves and tights can be added too. This costume, along with the black cat costume, can also be used as a last-minute duo costume!

3) Fancy Nancy

In my opinion, this is probably one of the most fun and creative costumes. To dress up like this iconic children’s book character, a variety of accessories are needed such as a feather boa, tiara, sunglasses, and costume jewelry. Pair these accessories with a dressy outfit and pair of high heels or fun shoes to achieve the Fancy Nancy look!

4) A Vampire

Just like the black cat, this is another very easy and low effort costume for procrastinators. For this vampire costume pick an all-black outfit. To achieve the full vampire look, add some makeup to look pale and smudged red lipstick, or fake blood, to the corners of your mouth.

5) A Princess

This costume is perfect if you have an old dress from prom or homecoming. Start by choosing a dress; it can be any color, length, or style. Then, pair the outfit with some jewelry and dress shoes. To complete the princess look, add a tiara and, if you have them, a pair of long gloves!

6) Adam Sandler

This costume is one of the most low-effort and comfortable to choose from. To dress like the iconic comedian, wear a pair of basketball shorts and an oversized t shirt; the baggier, the better. For shoes, a pair of sneakers, slides, or crocs look best. There are very few accessories for this costume, but sunglasses and a hat look best.

7) Superman/Clark Kent

If you have a Superman shirt, dress clothes, and a pair of glasses, this costume will be easy. To become this iconic hero, wear a Superman shirt with any kind of black bottoms. Put a white button down over the shirt making sure enough of it is left unbuttoned to see the logo of the shirt underneath. To finalize the look, add an undone tie and pair of glasses.

8) A Scarecrow

Everyone has denim and flannel laying around, especially during fall. Start by choosing any kind of denim bottoms such as jeans, a skirt, or overalls. Pair these bottoms with a flannel top and a hat of your choice. Complete the look with scarecrow makeup, using eyeliner to draw the stitches and patches onto your face.

9) A Leopard

Leopard print has been trending for a while now, so the chances you have it in your closet are high. Style an outfit revolving around the leopard print piece. To finish off the look, add some cat ears and paint the spots, nose, and whiskers onto your face with makeup! This costume is low effort, trendy, and less basic than the typical black cat costume.

10) Bed Bug

I’ve been seeing this one more recently, but it’s perfect if you own a pajama set and want something super comfortable. For this costume, wear a pajama set of your choice and then add an antenna headband; this can easily be made using a headband and some pipe cleaner. To elevate the look, add slippers, a sleeping mask, and a pair of wings!

There really are so many costumes that can be created using just the things in your closet. I hope this helps with figuring out a last-minute costume feel less stressful! Have fun, be safe, and have a happy Halloween!
