During finals week the library becomes almost impossible to find a table to study at. Finding other alternative study spots on campus can be like finding a needle in a haystack. A good place to find is hard to come across on your own, so here are some places that are usually quiet and secluded during finals week.
- The University Chapel- If you go to the chapel when there are no services it is one of the quietest places on campus; it’s so quiet it could be a little creepy. If you get past the eerie feeling you will find that it’s actually quite relaxing and no one will bother or disturb you there.
- Murphy Classrooms- During finals week Murphy rooms 102, 103, 105 and 107 are open to students to study in. Being in a classroom will make you feel like you almost have to do work since you are in the same environment you will be in when you take your finals. Also there will probably be no one in all of the classrooms, so if there are multiple people in one classroom you could always move to the room down the hall.
- The Loft in the Quick Center- The Loft can sometimes be crowded during finals week, but that is only during the day and evenings. If you prefer studying at 1 a.m., the Loft will be open until 2 a.m. during finals week.
- The galleries in The Quick Center- the galleries in The Quick Center are great options for people looking for a secluded place during the day. No one will come and bother you if you are working in the galleries most of the time. The only downside is that there are no tables, but you can spread all of the things you need on the floor and finish your work in peace and quiet.Â
