October seems to be the only month that flew by in 2020 and for some reason the “spookiness” flew by with it. Besides the start of holiday, scented candles, everyone waits for October to celebrate the “spookiness” of Halloween. This year, the anticipation for Halloween costumes and scary movies have died down, and here’s why:

COVID-19 is Way Spookier

Since March, the country has stressed the point of socially distancing, staying home, and staying safe due to COVID-19. The idea of going house to house and sharing candy is not an ideal thought. The thought of catching the virus is way scarier than any costume or movie.

You Are Getting Older

When you’re a kid, Halloween seems like a way bigger deal. You get to dress up, eat a lot of candy, or watch the scary movie marathons on TV. As you get older, Halloween is waiting till last minute to find a costume for a party that no one is going to anyway, because of COVID19.

 Stores Rushed Christmas

If you’ve entered any department store this month, you see less pumpkins and more Christmas trees. Besides a small section for candy and an even smaller section for costumes, the stores have wasted no time putting up Christmas trees for sale. This definitely takes the spookiness out of October.

You’re Favorite Fall Shows Stopped Filming

No longer waiting for your favorite fall shows to air because they stopped due to COVID made you unexcited for literally everything…especially Halloween. This means missing out on your shows, and their Halloween specials.

There’s So Much Going On Today

Halloween is creepy & spooky, but the real scare is what’s going on in the world today such as COVID, elections, #EndSARS, and plenty of other things. Who has time to think of Halloween while trying to make the world a little better each day?

2020 has been so scary, it makes Halloween seem extremely cuddly.

I have a lot to say, so I put it in writing 🤎
