Recently our Campus Correspondent had a chance to catch up with Tino Smith ll. Smith will be senior next school term and is most known on campus for his impeccable skills on the football field. We got a chance to see there’s more then meets the eye when it comes to 6’2, D1 superstar!
Otissia – ” How would you describe your college experience?”
Tino – “College experience has been great. Everyone has their ups and downs but it’s overall been smooth.”
Otissia- “As a senior what do you wish you could have told your freshman self?”
Tino- “Sheesh…I would’ve told young Tino to take more classes per semester so he could slide and graduate early.”
Otissia- “What is your favorite memory as a freshman & senior?”
Tino- “The memories are endless, I would say the times spent with the bros and the movies made we will never forget.”
Otissia- “What advice can you give incoming freshman?”
Tino- “Incoming freshman I would say take more than 15 hours per semester. Be yourself. Don’t try and act or be something your not. Just vibe and focus on getting in and getting out.”
Otissia- “What is your major & why did you choose it?”
Tino- “Mass communications because it was something that was interesting to me as a freshman, so I took it and ran with it.”
Otissia- “What do you hope to accomplish after graduation?”
Tino- “After graduation I would love to get an opportunity to play at the next level.”
Otissia- “How important is football to your life and would you consider doing any other sport?”
Tino- “Football is important not only to me but my family. Lol I would consider playing basketball for fun but I’m a football player.”
Otissia- “If you could change one thing about your college career what would it be?”
Tino- “Preparation in the classroom/ field. Didn’t take things serious from the jump as I should. Thought I had all the time in the world. Life moves fast people.”
Otissia- “How important is a college education to you?”
Tino- “Was never a school guy but I always understood how serious it was to obtain. Now a days you need that degree. It will get you in doors just because you have one.”
Tino is a great example to incoming freshman especially athletes who can see not only can you be a great athlete but a well rounded individual as well!
