The Fall semester is in full swing, which means homework, drama, and stress are out to play. As much as we all love college, it always feels good to take a breather from campus life and go back to your roots. With Fall break just around the corner, let’s take a look at all the things we love most about being home.

1. Being treated like a princess by by your family when you walk through the front door.

Don’t worry about carrying your bags in. That’s what siblings are for! That remote across the room? Dad is already on his way to grab it for you.

2. Having your favorite dessert waiting for you on the counter (fresh out of the oven of course).

God bless Moms everywhere for having warm, homemade cookies ready to grab as soon as you walk in the door. Nothing warms the heart like Mom’s famous cupcakes.

3. Playing with your pets who think you are the world’s greatest.

Oh how these innocent angels never seem to get enough of us!

4. Being able to relax instead of worrying about homework.

Homework does not exist at home. Due dates do not exist at home. Stress does not exist at home. Home is a magical place where it is only acceptable to lounge around and watch Netflix all day.

5. Eating a 7-course meal because your mom wants to squeeze in all of your favorites while you’re home.

Who said the “Freshmen 15” can’t be gained at home? And the best part about this is all the leftovers you’ll get to take back to campus!

6. Sleeping in your big bed, in your own room.

Who doesn’t love being back in their own bed and their own bedroom. You can sprawl out like a starfish and sleep peacefully without the sounds of doors slamming all night long.

7. Being able to go to sleep at 9pm without being called lame.

Whoever saying going to bed early is lame never knew how good it feels to get an amazing 12 hours or more of sleep. College is full of late nights, going home is our chance to catch up on sleep without missing out on anything.

8. Catching up with old friends from home.

You can spill the details about the million things going on in your life without taking ten years to text it our or trying to find a time that works for everyone to Facetime.

9. Did I mention free laundry??

The last time we appreciated our quarters this much was when we were 5 years old.

10. Being able to shower in a space that you can actually shave your legs in.

Guys will never know the struggle of shaving in a college shower. It is harder than any Biology class offered at college.

11. Stocking up on snacks for your dorm room.

Your parents know your favorite snacks and have them bagged up and ready to pack in the car to take back to school with you. You won’t go hungry during your late night study sessions thanks to mom and dad. They bought the whole Sam’s Club just to send back with you.

12. And then you realize it’s Sunday and you have to go back to campus and face all of the homework you have been putting off.

Adulting is rough. Is it time to go home again, yet?
