Top 5 Bars in the QC

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SAU chapter.

Your college years are supposed to be the time of your life. While you’re here in the Dirty D and of legal age, we’re almost certain that you’ll explore a few different bars in the QC. And trust me, there’s more to the nightlife than Downtown 3rd Street has to offer. Here is my list of favorite bars to try on your next night out.

1. Circle Tap

This is my go-to bar for a cold, $5 pitcher of beer (for students). Walking into Circle, the bar is set up in almost an oval shape. It’s a small space with an Ireland feel. Clovers, flags, and memorabilia cover the walls in this little dive bar. There is a covered, outdoor patio that is perfect for small gatherings and parties. Circle is known for their ribs and trust me, they are delicious! Also, every Saturday for the Iowa Hawkeye football games, there is a lot going on! Free Jell-o shots when the Hawks score and a free raffle where they give out everything from t-shirts to grills. It’s definitely a bar that all Ambrosians should go to at least once.

2. Endless Brews

If you’re looking for a great place to grab a drink, talk and have a good time with craft beers, Endless Brews is your place to go. Not only can you stop in to have some yummy beers on tap, they have lots of beers and t-shirts to pick up and take home as well.

3. Analog Arcade Bar

If you haven’t been here, I highly recommend it. From Ski-ball to pinball, they have it all. The bar also features Jumbo Jenga if arcade games aren’t your thing. Their beer prices are fairly good, considering that you have to use tokens. It all evens out for the amount of fun you’re going to have, however. I went on a first date here which was great because we are both competitive. One thing that I like about Analog is if you’re there after midnight, and need a snack, order a pizza and have it delivered. While Analog doesn’t serve food, they’re more than happy if you bring your own!

4. Daiquiri Factory

If you’re looking for a start to a great GNO, this is the place to go! This local favorite has a ton of frozen daquari flavors, all set up along the bar. There are endless options that will guarantee you’ll get your DaqFac buzz on. The Loco Monkey is my go-to for a night, one that I hope I’ll remember! Also, if you’re downtown Davenport at closing time and still looking to party, get an Uber and take the trip to the Daq Fac. Since it’s in Illinois, it stays open until 3:00 a.m. You can thank me later.

5. BREW in the Village

This is a great place to have an appetizer, work on some homework and drink great craft beer or coffee – depending on what you’re looking for and time of day. The décor is something you won’t forget because it’s so fun and an eclectic place to visit! Plus, if you’re craving a sweet treat, they have great homemade desserts to choose from.

Well, my fellow Bees, there you have it! This is my list of top 5 favorite bars to go to in the QC. Feel free to hit up some of the best dives bars and great places to spend an evening you don’t want to miss.
