Style of Service

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SAU chapter.

Service is a tradition at St. Ambrose; it’s in our mission statement to serve. So on Sunday, 600 students went out into the neighborhoods surrounding campus and served anyone who needed it for the annual Bee the Difference Day. From raking leaves to mowing the lawn, students helped their neighbors who couldn’t do fall yard work. And they did it in stylish shirts, too! These long-sleeve shirts were free for all students who volunteered. That’s right, free. All students had to do was volunteer a few hours of their time on a Sunday afternoon and they received a free long-sleeved shirt that is perfect for the fall weather! The best part is the shirts are super hero themed every year. This year was no different as Batman graced the shirts.

So as the semester wears on and you see a bunch of students in the same gray long-sleeve shirt, don’t worry, they aren’t copying each other, rather they all did a day of service for their neighbors.
