SAU Survives Finals Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SAU chapter.

For some students finals week becomes the most stressful week of their entire semester. Group projects, presentations, term papers and the dreaded final are common ways to overwhelm students. The worst part is that summer is so close and many just want to go home. However, students at SAU survived another finals week thanks to various events put on throughout the week.

The SAU library always accommodates to students’ cramming study habits. The library stayed open until 1:00 a.m. starting on Sunday and they remained open an hour later on Friday and Saturday of the week before finals. They also provided free coffee for students throughout each day.

Midnight Breakfast is always a huge favorite even though it starts at 10 p.m. instead of Midnight. A set of dueling pianos provided entertainment during the Luau themed event. Students had access to all kinds of free breakfast food from homemade omelets, to donuts, to breakfast and dessert pizzas. They also had the opportunity to interact with a number of faculty member as they were the ones serving and cooking the food in addition to the regular kitchen staff.

Campus Recreation focused on relaxing the students by sponsoring chair massages and a hula hoop fitness event. The chair massages were done by Blackhawk College Message Therapy students from 5:30 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday. This was followed by a hula hoop fitness class at 8 p.m. in the ballroom.

Needless to say, the campus sponsored multiple activities for students to take study breaks and do their best on finals. With this semester coming to a close, students and kick back and relax until next year when they start this all over again.
