Pantene Beautiful Lengths, partnered with Selena Gomez, launched their new campaign today called the ‘#8or8’ challenge. In an Instagram video, Gomez urges her fans to participate to help women with cancer by ‘choosing their 8’; by either donating 8 inches of hair, or $8 to the Pantene Beautiful Length Fund.
Gomez said in a press release, “Pantene Beautiful Lengths helps women with cancer feel better about themselves. I love that you can support the cause in a variety of different ways with the #8or8 Challenge.” Donations of each kind will help create real-hair wigs for women with cancer. The number 8 is significant to the campaign for two reasons; 8 inches is the minimum length required to donate ponytails, and a minimum of 8 ponytails is needed to create a wig. The campaign launched today because September 8th is also National Donate Your Hair Day!
