Themed birthday parties are a fun way to celebrate, no matter how old you are! For my boyfriend’s 22nd birthday, I threw him a Super Soft Birthday Party, like from the TV show, Letterkenny. If you haven’t watched it, I highly recommend it! All of my friends love it and they really get hooked at the episode, “Super Soft Birthday Party,” (Season 1, Episode 2) where ‘Darry’ is nearing his birthday and his friends throw him a traditional birthday party that he has had ever since he was little. His mom threw him girly parties because she “allegedly” wanted a girl and got stuck with him. William is a big fan of the show and he played right along with this theme. We had it at his apartment and we included all the super soft invites, decorations, and food! Here’s what you need to know to have your own Super Soft Birthday Party.

The first step to any party is inviting people! I created invites on Photoshop that said, “You guys wanna come to William’s super soft birthday party?” with a scene from the episode. I then sent the image on my phone through Snapchat or text to William’s friends and family. After they saw the invite they were in! Even some of my friends wanted to come to his party because of the theme!

You can’t have a super soft birthday party without a “Happy Birthday Bestie” banner. I made one on my own with the school’s butcher block paper and painted the words. Other decorations I used were pink balloons, a cupcake decorating station, and anything pink. I went to the dollar store and bought any girly birthday party things I could.

The only food that the show specifies, that I could tell, was a cupcake decorating station. I made two dozen cupcakes, some chocolate and some vanilla. I set them out with an option of chocolate frosting or cream cheese frosting with a variety of pink sprinkles to choose from. Aside from the cupcake making station, there were no regulations on the main course so William chose to have a taco bar. Of course, with food you do need beverages. Outside of the drinks that the characters make in the show, I chose basic juices like lemonade, cranberry juice, and orange juice that everyone would like. William wanted a little bit of everything so he bought stuff to make shakes, smoothies, coffee, anything liquid.

So if you need a theme for your next birthday party, or you just find that Letterkenny really is a great show, throw a Super Soft Birthday Party! Pitter patter!
