We all have our own unique fashion styles, but it’s also fun to sometimes dress like our favorite characters from television.  Creating styles we never even thought of, these characters push the boundaries and make us want to do the same.  No matter the decade, it is easy to dress and impress like our favorite stars.  Here is a list of just 5 of those many fashionable characters!

1. Jess of New Girl

When it comes to fashionable television characters, Jess from New Girl is one of our new favorites.  She wears bright colors, and is even able to mix and match those colors with different patterns.  She wears cute clothes that are actually practical for day-to-day wear.  To get Jess’ style is easy.  Find bright colors, whether a skirt or pants, and mix that with a patterned or striped shirt.  Add shoes with either a special design or a bright color, and you’ll be ready to be the next new girl!

2. Rachel Green of Friends

Okay, I’ll state the obvious:  We all love Friends and idolized Rachel at some point in those ten seasons.  Not only a funny character, Rachel also had a great sense of fashion.  She worked at Bloomingdales and Ralph Lauren, but today, it is actually her older styles that are coming back.  Yes, collegiettes, overalls are back.  I know, scary, but these aren’t your old overalls from the 90s.  These overalls have the ripped knees and are rolled to give them a casual appearance.  Make the look your own and change which shirt you wear.  Add some wedges or pumps to make you look more elongated, making the overalls look even better!

(Gap overalls $73.99, Target top $6, Piperlime Calvin Klein wedges $99)

3. Megan of Mad Men

Mad Men has always been a show known for its fashion.  Banana Republic even has a Mad Men line every year, taking the 1960s styles and making them contemporary.  However, you don’t have to know the show to love the clothes.  Megan, Don’s new wife on the show, is one of the younger characters—in her mid 20s—and is showing off the younger styles of a time full of patterns and shift dresses.  Luckily for us, this fashion is back in style.  To get Megan’s look, find dresses that have bright color patterns, whether they are long-sleeved or shift dresses.  Add simple, but bold jewelry to finish the look.

4. Kelly Kapowski of Saved by the Bell

One of the most stylish characters from our childhood has to be Kelly Kapowski.  The Saved By the Bell star always made bold, dramatic fashion statements, and we hoped we one day would be as cool as her.  Who knew Kelly’s style would come back just in time for us to relive our childhoods?!  Floral patterns are popular, and it is easy to mix them with several other colors.  Find a pair of floral jeans and then have fun picking out which tops to go with them.  You can stick with a solid white color, or go brighter.  You can make the look more casual, and add some sneakers.  Now, where is Zack Morris?

(Urban Outfitters shirt $110, UO pants $88, UO sneakers $18)

5. Blair Waldorf of Gossip Girl

Since Gossip Girl has been on the air, Blair Waldorf has been one of the most stylish characters on television.  She is always on the cutting edge of fashion, pushing the boundaries.  Bright colors are one of Blair’s personal favorites.  Find a bright top and pair that with a patterned skirt—make it floral for the summer season!  Or switch it up with a patterned shirt and solid skirt.  Add some bright colored pumps to stand out even more and add a toned down purse to finish the look.

(The Limited shirt $46.90, The Limited skirt $59.90, Piperlime Steve Madden pumps $80)

There you have it.  Dressing like our favorite TV characters—whether past or present—is easy and can be done with any price range!
