Name: Monica Friedel
Hometown: Â Dubuque, IA
Year: Senior
Major: Marketing
Relationship status: Single as a Pringle
Ideal first date idea: I would have to say that getting food and watching a movie would probably be ideal. I am a pretty low key person so the more casual the better.
SAU involvement: Full time student
Favorite thing about SAU: My favorite thing about SAU would have to be the size of campus. I love the fact that basically everything is all within one city block so I can walk to all of my classes and not have to worry about walking super far or catching a bus like you have to do at many other universities.
Â
Favorite place to eat: Ichiban Hibachi Steakhouse & Sushi Bar… I could live off of their fried rice!
Favorite netflix series: Probably Parks and Rec because Andy and April are relationship goals
Guilty pleasure: I love watching extraction videos on Youtube.. I KNOW I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE!!!
Celeb crush: Eddie Redmayne or Alex Pettyfer don’t make me choose!!
Favorite ice cream flavor: Ben and Jerry’s Tonight Dough is what dreams are made of
Hobbies: I love everything makeup and I love to sing
Describe yourself with a song title: Hopeless Wanderer
Biggest turn on in a guy: Physically: if a guy smells good and has nice hair. Emotionally: honesty and someone who is genuinely caring and shows it.
Biggest turn off in a guy: Physically: bad hygiene. Emotionally: the biggest turn off for me is when a guy pretends like he doesn’t care and acts completely different around his friends. I also need to be able to have a real conversation with somebody so if I feel like I’m talking to a brick wall, then I’m out.
What would be your ultimate dream job?: My dream job would be working in the marketing department of Sephora at their corporate headquarters.
If you had one day left to live, how would you spend it?: I would spend it with my family and friends.
Words of advice for freshman at SAU: This is your chance for a new start. Try new things and meet new people! Your life begins at the end of your comfort zone!…. Also don’t wear your lanyard around your neck.
