Breadcrumbing Needs to End, Like Yesterday

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SAU chapter.

Listen up Bees, there is a new trend out there called breadcrumbing and that s*** needs to be put to an end, like yesterday.

It is the new trend taking over for our ever-favorite ghosting.

According to Urban Dictionary, the act of breadcrumbing is:

The act of sending out flirtatious, but non-committal text messages (ie “breadcrumbs”) to members of the opposite sex in order to lure a sexual partner without expending much effort.

Kelly started breadcrumbing early in the evening in the hopes that one of the guys she’d been working might show up for a late-night the booty-call.

Now, ladies, I don’t know about you but this sounds like a whole lot of crap to me. It is just another way for people to non-committal flirt with one another and get away with it. I have a friend who has been talking to a guy for a few weeks now, but he will only message her or snap her a few times a day. But when he does, she swoons. Waiting for that one flirty text to come through makes her entire day.

Which is crap, ladies! We don’t need to sit around waiting for a guy to text us. We have the world to conquer. So get up and put on your lipstick ladies. We have the world to run.
