SAU had an unusually long winter break, so I had plenty of downtime to discover new books, TV shows, and podcasts. I’m someone who loves to do things alone; grocery store trips, going to the post office, Dunkin’ runs, whatever the case may be. That being said, I’ve found comfort and enjoyment from having podcasts play as I go about my daily activities. It’s like always having a friend with me! Here are my top 5 podcasts that I have been obsessed with.

Gilmore Guys

This is my all time FAVORITE podcast.  Hosts Kevin Porter and Demi Adejuyigbe watch and review each episode of Gilmore Girls, focusing on trivia, plot, characters, as well as incorporating their own opinions and observations about the show. I am a Gilmore Girls superfan, so it’s a lot of fun for me to listen to people who share the same passion that I have for this show. These guys are a great duo and while they tend go off topic sometimes (all the time), I have come to enjoy their banter and personalities just as much as I love hearing what they have to say about the show. Occasionally, they have cast or crew members on their show to talk about their experience on Gilmore. It is truly a superfan’s dream!

If you are a fan of Amy Sherman-Pallidino’s shows, they have also done Bunhead Bros where they review each episode of Bunheads as well as Maisel Goys where they review each episode of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard

This podcast is one of the most impressive podcasts I have ever listened to. I say this because of Dax’s consistency and growth over the years. He has a remarkable roster of guests and has the amazing capability to connect with a large range of personalities. Listening to this podcast has not only given me and inside scoop on celebrity life, it has also made me think differently about my own life and relationships. I highly reccommend this podcast.

Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness

I have listened to Getting Curious for years now, and Jonathan Van Ness’ personality and curiousity never fail to inspire me to ask more questions. JVN invites guests who are experts on a specific topic to educate and discuss their knowledge. It is very intriguing and you will not be bored! I have learned about so many things that I had no idea I would find interesting. From different religions to politics to personal health, I have gotten curious and stayed curious.

A Work in Progress with Sophia Bush

Sophia Bush is not only a phenomenal actress, she also possesses a strong social responsibility to speak about issues that are not easy to discuss, but she finds important. She invites interesting and inspiring guests to discuss their lives, both personal and professional. So many lessons and interesting conversations take place and Sophia’s strong personality and lovely raspy voice make for a GREAT listen.

The Michelle Obama Podcast

I am very open about my adoration for First Lady Michelle Obama, so I had to include her podcast in this list. Her episodes all revolve around a general question or concept about relationships, life, current events, etc. There are only about 10 episodes, but I find her words and stories fascinating and inspiring.
