Three City-Inspired Outfits for Any First Date

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at San Francisco chapter.

As women we go through a lot of pressure to get ready for dates.  We spend hours doing hair and makeup and getting dressed all to hear that special someone say, “Wow, you look amazing tonight.” Here is a guide to helping you look smoking hot for any kind of first date!

Sexy/Sit-down Dinner date

Since most nights in San Francisco can be chilly, I would suggest wearing something very warm – this
calls for dark washed or black skinny jeans (black leggings would work as well) paired with a white sequenced top and red high heels to match. As for accessories, you don’t want anything too brightly colored, that might compete with your red heels, so I would suggest Lulu’s taupe “Townsend Satin Rectangle Box Clutch” and Forever 21’s red “Lacquered Heart Earrings”.

Sunny/Warm/Breezy Picnic date

If you are lucky enough to score a date on a nice, sunny day in the city, take full advantage of it! One new
spring trend that is the high-low, or mullet skirts/dresses, which Forever 21 has an abundance of.  It’s a great way to show off your legs in a less revealing/sophisticated way.  Go with a floral print and pair it with a jean jacket and some big sunglasses.  For shoes, go with LC Lauren Conrad’s “Platform Dress Sandals”.  They are adorable and comfortable enough to walk in around the city!

Bowling/Sight-seeing/Shopping date

As the saying goes, “beauty is pain” and while this is sometimes true, this outfit is still glamorous and pain free! – Perfect for an activity date! Start with a good semi-light pair of denim jeans like Levis’ “Modern Slight Curve Straight Jean” and roll up the pant ends two times, just above the ankle.  Pair it with a comfortable pair of nude flats like Report Grover Flats available at DSW.  Flats are the best option because they are easy to walk in and will make any outfit look great!

Now that you have an idea of what to wear, go rock it! But don’t forget that whatever you choose to wear, you should always incorporate a bit of yourself in your style!
