Hello Collegiettes!
We are switching it up a bit this week to feature a SFSU alumnus in light of the Oscars last week. As many of you know, the university’s cinema department is one of the best in the country, with many of its alumni receiving Oscar nominations each year. This week, we are featuring Christopher Boyes, who graduated from SF State in ’75. He is a sound engineer who has won multiple Academy Awards for his work in “Titanic” (1998), “Pearl Harbor” (2003), “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” (2003), and “King Kong” (2006). This year, he won a fifth Academy Award for Best Sound Mixing for “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.”
