An Open Letter to my Mother

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at San Francisco chapter.

Dear Mom,

I wanted to sit down and formally thank you for everything you’ve ever done for me. I know my terrible twos lasted well into my teens and yet you still kept loving me. You are the greatest mother I’ve ever known and I could not imagine my life without you. You did so much, and continue to do so much, for Max, Dad and I. Whether it was working jobs you didn’t want to or cooking meals when you were too tired to, you always did everything you could to provide for us.

Not being in San Diego for mother’s day is hard. It’s the first time I haven’t been there to hug you and thank you, in person, for being my mother. You’re such a wonderful human being who never cuts themselves enough slack. You were always there to help me on papers, projects and school plays. You came to every performance I was in (well the ones I wanted you to go to) and all my graduations. You let me make my own decisions and when I made mistakes or broke down you were always there to comfort me.

Even though we are five-hundred miles apart I know I can count on you to pick up everytime I call and to listen to every problem I may have. You always give the greatest advice and are my immovable rock when everything in my own life seems to be way too hard. There is not enough time in the world to describe how grateful I am to have you in my life. You are everything I hope to be and more. I love you so incredibly much!

Happy Mother’s Day Momma

I’ll Talk to you Tomorrow
