Malcolm McCormick, known professionally as rapper Mac Miller, was reportedly found dead at 26 of an apparent overdose. The report first broke from TMZ yesterday afternoon.

Law enforcement sources reported to TMZ that the rapper was found Friday around noon in a bedroom at his San Fernando Valley home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Miller was open about his struggle with addiction. Celebrities and fans have taken to social media to honor the late musician. 

“Malcolm McCormick known and adored by fans as Mac Miller, has tragically passed away at the age of 26,” said Miller’s family in a statement shortly after his death. “He was a bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans. Thank you for your prayers.”

Mac Miller just released his album Swimming last month and promoted his upcoming tour on Twitter.
