Today, when you go onto the web, it shouldn’t be to just any page. Not just any network or social media site where you mindlessly scroll. Instead, today, we’re sending you to a site that is changing the world for professional women today — the Levo League site.
As a woman in the new millennia, there are a million new opportunities but never enough resources. Women have been pushing to grow and succeed even more these recent years, and the start-up Levo League embodies that 100 percent.
Levo League is an online forum for Generation Y women looking to expand their knowledge and connections in the business world through articles, live-streamed office hours and online mentors. Levo League gives young women the ability to connect and learn together the tools and rips for succeeding in every area of business.
The articles on Levo cover a wide range of topics that always apply to daily, home and work lives. Need to know how to incorporate spring trends into an appropriate work outfit? Curious how much you should be saving from your paycheck? Tips for cover letters or travel as a frequent flier? Wondering what news articles came out this week that you should have checked out? Levo has it all, with several new articles every weekday that touch on fashion, career advice, personal life, and more. They also have weekly columns such as Behind the Pencil (Skirt), which features a new fabulous female every Friday and her take on work life, personal life, style and advice, or Bookmarked which collects some of the week’s most interesting pieces for you to check out.
One of the greatest parts of Levo League are their Office Hours. Twice per week, strong leaders and professionals are life streamed with the Levo team giving speeches and advice, and answering wide ranges of questions sent in by viewers and members of the Levo site. Just recently they had Sheryl Sandberg, the COO of Facebook, for Office Hours, talking about her book Lean In and what it really means to lean in as a woman in the business world. It was an incredibly powerful Office Hours that brought great ideas to women all over the country, and each week’s Office Hours gives that opportunity again and again with new leaders. These office hours give 30 minutes of inspiration to every viewer.
The newest addition to Levo League is the mentorship program, found under their new “Connect” page. Levo League has connected tons of fantastic professionals, both male and female, such as Kate White from Cosmopolitan, or the President of Chegg, or even the Levo founders, to the audience and members of Levo League so you’re able to ask them questions and be mentored on different topics. A member of the site can send a 140-character question to different Levo team members as well as a huge variety of other professionals. You’re also able to “follow” different mentors and check out on your home screen what questions they’ve gotten and what they’ve been answering. It’s a great new tool that taps into the core vision of Levo: to help elevate women in their careers and daily lives through this network.
If you’re looking for advice and inspiration to move forward in your career and professional life, whichever direction that may be, this is the place to go. You’ll find young women your age searching for the same, and you can even connect with ‘Local Levo,’ a community of women in your area who follow Levo League and search to progress in the way you do.
Be sure and check out the Bay Area Local Levo, and get involved; start leaning in on your career and professional life!
“Levo is the Latin root of the word “elevate,” which captures our mission for professional women to ascend together, strengthening us all in the quest to achieve our career dreams.” — Carolyn and Amanda, founders
